Block Jointing Mortar

Block Jointing Mortar overview

Block jointing mortar is a semi premix high quality mortar for jointing and bonding of AAC blocks, concrete blocks it consists of cement, graded sand and specialized polymers which combine to give superior strength, water retention and stability, it replaces the conventional method and material of jointing mortar which requires a 12-18 mm thickness with a revolutionary 3-5mm joint thickness. standard specification code followed is ASTM c1650-09.

Features & Benefits

  • Masonry surface is ready for subsequent application like plastering just after 24 hrs,
  • Compressive strength is higher than the conventional cement/sand mortar.
  • Being ready to use, it eliminates on-site mixing and storage of various raw materials thus saving a lot on time and manpower.
  • Self curing, saving on labor & water required for curing.
  • Being a thin layer joint, it gives high adhesion strength, low shrinkage and seamless structure.

Surface Preparation

  • The surface of masonry unit should be clean and free from dusty/greasy particles for better bonding.
  • There should be no eforescence & other contaminant that can impair the natural bond.
  • Needs a good surface preparation.
  • The surface of masonry blocks should be slightly wet prior to the application.

Coverage Per Bag

  • Under normal conditions, the 40kg bag for 3-5 mm thickness will be as follows.
  • Coverage depends upon the evenness of the masonry unit, thickness of the joint size of the masonry unit, proper workmanship.

Packing

  • The product is available in 40 kg pp laminated bags.

Ingredients

  • Cement, graded sand, specialized polymers, performance additives & chemicals.

Sheif life & Storage

  1. Store the material in cool, dry and shaded place.
  2. Shelf life 6 months from the date of manufacturing in packed bags.
